Who is eligible for our services:

Any Federal, State or Local law enforcement officer or any Fire Fighter or EMS worker who have recently experienced a critical incident on the job.  

Is there a time limit on what constitutes a recent critical incident? 

Although we specialize in helping responders process recent exposure to trauma, we understand that past experiences can linger for years.  There is no time limit.  If you or a responder you know are struggling and could benefit from one of our retreats, please submit a request.  

If I nominate a responder,  are they guaranteed a spot on a trip? 

Unfortunately,  due to the amount of critical incident exposures on the job and the amount of nominations we receive, we are unable to provide our services to all responders nominated.  Please consider donating so we can offer more retreats.   

Is there any cost for a responder nominated, if accepted? 

No. Restoring Responders will cover all costs associated with each trip for our nominees.  Please note, we do require each nominee accepted to pay for their own round trip plane ticket up front. After attending the retreat, Restoring Responders will reimburse  each first responder up to $1000.00 upon submission of a receipt. 

You mention onsite counseling, is this mandatory? 

Counseling is NOT mandatory, however we do always encourage it. We always provide on site trauma informed counseling and spiritual guidance counseling to all attendees.

Where do the retreats take place? 

At Restoring Responders, our dream is to eventually have our own property to host retreats.  Currently we’re trying to raise enough money to build our own facility.  In the mean time,  we utilize existing retreat facilities all over the United States. 

I see you offer spiritual counseling and I see scriptures on your website, is this a Christian retreat? What if I don’t believe in any of that?

Restoring Responders was created as a faith based ministry.  We are rooted in the christian faith but, you don’t have to be.  No matter your religious beliefs, we welcome you. Our mission is just to serve you and create an environment for restoration.
